Archie Battersbee, what are your views on this?
It's utterly heartbreaking, I would hate to be in that position but what do you do?

You would do anything to keep your child alive and I respect his parents for doing that but using the word " execution " is a little bit OTT.

There are no winners in this, poor lad.

To be frank, I don’t care at all. Can’t see why this is even national news.

Nurse,

I don't think I can cope with him becoming a curmudgeon in addition to his other character flaws...

You can have ALL of it...as long as you're prepared to also take on whatever the feck is wrong with me.

Feed Me Chicken

(I do hope you're also eating your greens, young man)

I read through the whole page of that link. Just...wow. I know I would be feeling very depressed about Archie's mother and her milieu (their lifestyles, appalling spelling and grammar, and attitude) but I am currently hopped-up on dihydrocodeine and some other dodgy git of a pill.

Is that pic of her smiling with her thumbs up actually at her sons hospital bed? If not then I've totally got the wrong end of the stick. However if so, whoaah, that is fucking weird....

Re: Archie Battersbee, what are your views on this?
Very sad situation, and I don't blame the parents one bit for clinging to hope and i can't really imagine what they are going through, but continually denying and challenging the opinion of the experts doesn't help anyone. Not the family (the dad), not the boy himself, not the professionals tending to him while he's being artificially kept breathing, and not anyone else who may need the hospital facilities. I feel like the 'Christian groups' and lawyers are largely behind all that, and pushing their own agendas using vulnerable and grief stricken people.

If the family would like any good to come out of this horrible thing, then they may consider publicising what happened to him and maybe even starting or backing some sort of foundation or internet safety campaign to try and make sure nothing similarly tragic happens to any other impressionable young children.

Re: Archie Battersbee, what are your views on this?
Co-incidently there was a story running about this very topic on Coronation Street where the mother did not accept the inevitable outcome. The mother was called Leanne BATTERSBY.

These lawyers that feed into the delusions of the mother are total charlatans. The religious maniacs supporting her are absolute cunts.

Re: Archie Battersbee, what are your views on this?
He - the most important person in this story - is now in a better place.

The parasites & scum feeding off his parent's/mother's grief will have to find a new target, which they will.

I would suspect that there is guilt involved in letting the poor lad "chat" on the internet for long enough for this to happen (without checking up on him every 3 minutes); bottom line is that in reality you have to start giving your kids measured amounts of freedom as they grow; mostly it works out fine - this time not.

Re: Archie Battersbee, what are your views on this?
She's probably both grief and guilt ridden and is lashing out in complete anger and hurt, kind of understandable

Got into a battle she clearly can't win but is doubling down, opening up a new "battleground" each time she loses. First it was indefinite care, then Italy or Japan, now a hospice?

Also claiming she'll give mouth to mouth when his respirator is turned off but for what exactly? The outcome will be exactly the same, just seems like a gesture purely for dramatic effect. All the while her solicitors and advisors are raking it in?

As suggested, the family should've concentrated on the cause of his death and publicised the dangers of social media trends, would be a much more dignified cause.

Re: Archie Battersbee, what are your views on this?
She claims that the hospital has much to answer for, why? They have done nothing wrong as far as I can see.

What needs answering is how the poor lad ended up in this situation.

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 12:32 Thu Aug 4
Re: Archie Battersbee, what are your views on this?
Sadly, this is now becoming all about the parents.

Now she is taking court action so the lad can be transferred to a hospice to die in 'dignity'. This 'dignity' I suppose involves taking him from a room he is unaware of, rolling him through the corridors of the hospital, sticking him in an ambulance, driving him several miles to the hospice (or Japan, preferably), rolling him through the corridors of the hospice and putting him in another room he is unaware of. All under the glare of media scrutiny.

It's too much.
